One of Philadelphia's most renowned, loved and respected poet, Mbali Umoja, suffered a stroke two years ago and since that time, as she continues on her road to recovery, her mobility and ability to work has been severely diminished. Nationally recognized and internationally honored, oftentimes in the arts world, "out of sight means out of mind." But we here, in the Philadelphia arts community want to spend a Sunday afternoon sharing our work and celebrating the contributions that Mbali Umoja has made to the Philadelphia poetry scene, as one-time coordinator of the London series, arts educator with Child Guidance Clinic and poet.
